Pumpkin Spice Latte Milkshake

Posted by

Did you know that more ice cream is consumed when it’s cold than when it’s hot? For me personally, the idea of ice cream in the heat and humidity is a bit unpalatable, but when the leaves start the fall and the temperatures start to drop, give me a scoop of ice cream any day!

When I first found out that I had been selected to try Godiva’s new Fall coffees as a part of Foodbuzz.com’s tastemaker program, I thought scones … and then pie (more on that later ;))… But then I realized that Godiva was particularly interested in having tastemakers come up with a new beverage using their coffee. Doh! So, one batch of cookie-scones and one pie later, I found myself brewing another pot of double strength Godiva Pumpkin Spice Coffee for this milkshake. This milkshake: a blended yum-fest of ice cream (feel free to use vegan or regular), pumpkin (which totally makes this healthy, no?), and coffee (a great pick-me-up!). Sprinkled with a few coffee grounds and slurped through a straw mid-afternoon, this milkshake was the perfect way to celebrate the weekend…

  16. I agree, I love ice cream when it’s hot, hot, hot! Since it is still pretty warm here, I like the idea of fall flavors in a cool treat.

  17. What a GREAT recipe! I love ice-cream no matter the weather. I try to indulge wisely, but there are days I must heed the siren’s call!

  18. Recipes are becoming so creative these days and your shake is one of it. For me, ice-cream is not about the weather, I find it to be an energy food. So, when I feel weak and tired, I tend to grab an ice-cream.

  19. I’m with you on the ice cream thing. I like ice cream year ’round, but when it is so hot in the summer during the day, I rarely want ice cream. I love the Godiva Pumpkin coffee so I bet it was really great in this delicious milkshake!!

  20. You are so right about cold treats when it’s cold! That’s when I slurp down more smoothies and such, in winter. What a tempting-looking Latte Milkshake. This is something that my son and I can make this weekend, when the mercury starts to take a dip downward.

Wonderful post and, as usual, beautiful photos.

  25. I love ice cream when it’s cold out! In the summer it just makes me thirsty. I remember one day in kindergarten our teacher gave us ice cream on the playground on a really hot day and it made me so thirsty, I begged the teacher to let me get a drink from the water fountain and she wouldn’t, she kept telling me I couldn’t possibly be thirsty because I just had ice cream. WHAT!?

Okay that was totally unrelated to this post, but my point is that I like ice cream when it’s cold and I’d drink this latte/milkshake any day!

    • What a silly teacher!!! Kids should be allowed all of the water that they want.

  26. I have been so addicted to the pumpkin spice lattes at starbucks so I know I will enjoy this one!
