Arrrrrggggggggggg! … and … Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

These were the best of times. These were the worst of times. O.K. I’m totally being dramatic. But I do have good news and bad news. I’ll start with the bad…

First. My apartment fell through. URRRRGGGGG! Arrrgggggggg! (For those who do not know me, I am a big fan of comic-strip-type venting :D). It’s a long story. No need to get into it here. I’m telling myself that there’s a better apartment out there. This just means that now I have to spend even more time trying to find it. Sigh.

Second. Today is my last day of work at my current job, which is actually technically good news, BUT I didn’t receive my final pay, which is bad, bad news–especially when you are in the process of moving. Sigh.

Third. My greatgrandmother is in the hospital after falling, hitting her head, and getting stitches. She’s fine. Don’t worry. But it was a scare nonetheless.

O.K…. enough bad. Now, the GOOD news!

First. THANK you to everyone who voted for my cilantro-harissa grilled corn on foodbuzz.com’s site. It made Top 9! Woop woop!

Second. Today, my little cousin, my older cousin, my aunt and I are cooking together! I can’t wait… On the menu: Soy-glazed veggies and seitan in puff pastry, pina colada French sodas (homemade, of course), and peanut butter-chocolate ice cream sandwiches!

And third… today is the last day of June, which means that Nancy at SpicieFoodie has compiled some of the food blogosphere’s tastiest dishes from the month into one roundup. Check it out! … and have a great day!
