A month or so ago I was contacted by Cocomo Joe, a newly launched food company asking me to try their new products. Well, I neeeever say no to “an amazing line of organic, vegan, and paleo products!” A week or so later I received my box of goodies and let the tasting begin!
The box included a bag of salted chocolate granola, a few bags of Cocomocorn, along with a number of their “Joe Bars.” The granola was tasty–heavy on the fig and much too salty to eat as a cereal, but a nice touch to yogurt with fruit. The coconut, caramel popcorn was a great after-lunch sweet treat, when you want something sweet, but not a full-fledge dessert.
The Joe Bars, which came in coffee, cocoa, fig, cranberry, green and mango, were SUPER tasty! I eat a lot of bars–ones that I make myself and ones that I buy. They’re a great in-between meals snack, but many of the bars on the market are chock full of sugar. Not the Joe Bars! Joe Bars have about 8 grams of sugar each. Admittedly, they are high in fat–but good fat, largely from the high concentration of coconut in them. My favorite was the coffee. I got a jolt and felt full, and totally appreciated the organic chia seeds and maca root powder! If you’re looking for something different, without too much sugar, organic, and guilt free, definitely check out Cocomo Joe! And while you’re at it, check out Joe’s story, it’s quite inspiring!
…I’ll be back with a recipe post in a day or two! Have a great Monday!
