Gratitude to Your Left

Happy early Thanksgiving to all of you who celebrate it! If you are like me, you’re balancing working, cooking, and coordinating travel plans for the visitors you have coming into town. Despite all of this, I’m actually feeling ok. It may be the color-coded spreadsheet indicating what I need to accomplish each day up until the big day, or it may just be that I’m elated to be cooking for friends and family. Or it may be the activity I have planned before our big meal…

The activity is simple. We’re all going to hold hands and the person who starts is going to say something they are grateful for about the person to their left. The catch is … everyone doesn’t know each other! Naturally, some people will be standing next to someone they know, but in other instances, they’ll have to get creative when expressing their gratitude. I’m planning the activity after the appetizers and drinks, so hopefully folks would have gotten a chance to mingle enough to find a nugget of gratitude towards those they’ve interacted with. I’m really looking forward to it! (And have never done this, so it’s truly an experiment). Wish me luck and have a great holiday! 😀
